Periodontology implantology master class

One single training for a global skill!

Tunneling Academy’s mission is to give you within 3 days the theoretical knowledge and the technical skills necessary for soft tissue management by the Tunneling technique, in periodontology and in implantology. We are committed to offering an original, thorough and demanding training, but conducted in a relaxed atmosphere that encourages exchanges and experience sharing. All treatment concepts and techniques developed in the Tunneling book By Dr. Ronco, will be taught during this 3-day hands-on training

The program goes even beyond the scope of the book, particularly in implantology. The management of fibromucosa on the edentulous ridge, during and after bone reconstruction, and around implants will be discussed in theory and practice.

Whatever your starting skills in periodontal plastic surgery and implantology, this training is dedicated to your progress.

A theoretical course, illustrated with photos and videos, serves as a common thread and allows to contextualize the practical work carried out on at least 4 original educational models designed specifically by Dr. Ronco.

Each concept, method, or technique presented is immediately implemented on the different materials.

The distribution of time by type of teaching is approximately 90% for practical work and 10% for theoretical courses.

Innovative concepts will be discussed in particular in the field of sutures, graft harvesting, etc.

Goals for days 1and 2

management of soft tissues around natural teeth in the mandible and the maxilla

  • Extensive training in micro-surgery
  • Analyze clinical situations and choose the most relevant therapy
  • Modify the cemento-enamel junction to increase the accuracy of coverage
  • Retrieve grafts reproducibly using the most appropriate technique, from the palate or the tuberosities
  • Protect effectively the harvested sites
  • Modify the aesthetic and functional parameters at operated site: cover the roots, create keratinized tissue, increase the gingival biotype, etc.
  • Optimize the stability of long-term clinical outcomes
  • Manage complications

Goals for Day 3

management of soft tissue around implants

  • Analyze clinical situations and choose the most relevant therapy
  • Retrieve grafts reproducibly using the most suited technique for implantology
  • Protect effectively the harvested sites
  • Optimizing pocket and tunnel techniques for implantology
  • Modify aesthetic and functional parameters in extraction sockets, edentulous ridges, bone reconstruction sites and implants
  • Optimize the stability of long-term clinical outcomes
  • Manage complications

From a practical point of view, we provide everything that is essential for the training: working models, micro-surgical instruments, sutures, surgical magnifying glasses… However, we strongly recommend you to come with your own magnifying glasses/light (2.5 to 4.5 times zoom is ideal) and with your own micro-surgery case. It is indeed with these devices that you will work the day after this training, you might as well practice your gestures directly with them.

We also recommend that you have read the Tunneling book so that you already get an overview of the treatment philosophy and the surgical concepts that will be covered. You will thus benefit even more from the practical work.
